Our visit to the Bradford Astronomical Society's Observation Site at Sconce Lane on 2 November was not favoured with good weather. Contrary to the optimistic weather forecast,  the cloud was almost continuous, allowing us only a few fleeting glances of the moon.

However the BAS members set up some fascinating equipment indoors and we learned a lot about their club and it's activities as well as seeing on various laptops the sort of images that we could expect to get on a better day.

Those telescopes are impressive bits of optical engineering - one also looked like a Dalek to my eye.

We had good chat and some excellent tea and biscuits. Many thanks to BAS - no doubt we shall try again!
