We had our second DPI competition of the year on 12th January and as far as competitions go, this one was cracker! Up for grabs was the Bronze Statuette for Novice followed by the D.Bates Trophy for best all-rounder.
The all-rounders feature 4 images in different categories, and marked individually. The person with the highest mark from all four of their images, wins. The Bronze Statuette was the best individual image overall.
Between the two competitions there were 24 entries and 96 images to get through. Despite this, our judge Erica Oram was able to give each image a lot of consideration and provided some insightful critique for all the entries.
Tony Kilcoyne walked away with the Bronze Statuette for his dramatic image ‘Shepherds Hut, Yorkshire Dales’ (see header image) with Gareth Nolan and Grahams Binns coming in second and third respectively.
Shoes & Flowers
Andrew Holland entered another fantastic set of images (this page) and secured the D.Bates Trophy. Mike Myers and Sandra Cockayne came a close joint second, with Steve Swiszczowski and Andrew Withey both highly commended.
The Milky Way
Overall, a fantastic evening with some brilliant images on display.
